Bedhead take special care when playing weddings. After all, it is a very special day. The band will take care of all your music needs for your dance, including disco music when on a break, highland dancing if required and the first dance of your choice. As BedHead are a male/female duo with two lead singers, this gives a huge depth of material from all decades of recorded music. Within the band's huge set there will be something for everyone to enjoy. BedHead use a highly sophisticated Bose sound system. This delivers crystal clear sound to all areas of the room no matter how large. The volume is tightly controlled to give a big punchy sound that is not fatiguing on the ears and well within safe levels. You will notice that the sound level does not drop off with distance as you walk away from the speakers, nor does it get painfully loud as you approach the front of the stage. BedHead will try their very best to play the first dance of your choice, even if it means making a backing track specially. Please try and let the band know what song you would like to give them plenty of time to arrange it. We feel it is important to view a band before booking them for your wedding dance. Recording a song in a studio is very different to performing live.BedHead are very happy for clients to come and see them play before making a booking. Please let the band know when you intend to come along.
Frequently Asked Questions.
How Long Do You Play For?
Typically around 3 hours. The finishing time is dictated by the venue. The band will provide disco or background music until the bride and groom are ready for their first dance, after which the band will play their first set. During any breaks, either disco or background music will be provided.
How much do you cost?
Our fee for weddings in 2012 will be £700.
Do you have disco lights?
Yes, we carry a variety of stage and ambient lighting to provide the perfect atmospshere. We do not however use strobes as the danger of a guest with epilepsy is too great.
What do you wear?
Smart trousers and shirt/dress/skirt. We never wear scruffy jeans for someone's wedding.
How loud are you? I've been to dances where the band has been way too loud.
Our sound level is always appropriate to the size of venue and audience. Our sophisticated Bose PA ensures a uniform sound field that will let you hear every word of every song while still being able to hold a conversation. We can also cope with venues with sound monitoring systems as we have total control over our volume.
Will you get drunk and eat all the buffet?
We never get drunk whilst playing. We only drink water on stage. We will only partake in the buffet if invited to do so by the bride and groom and only after your guests have eaten.
How do I book you?
You can fill in the form on this website to make an enquiry or phone or email. We can then inform you if the date is available. We are happy to take provisional bookings but be aware that sometimes there can be more than one party interested in a particular date. In this case, the party who pays a deposit first has that date confirmed. Once you have decided to book, we ask for a booking fee of £50. This is deducted from the wedding fee and is returnable if you cancel within three months of the wedding date. We will send you a booking confirmation with all the details. Once this is done the date is yours.
Can we come and see you play?
Yes of course. In fact, we would urge you to do so for any band you are considering. We own a recording studio and we know how easy it is to make a band sound great on record so it makes sense to check if they are just as good live. You can check our gig list on this site for suitable dates. If you decide to view us at a wedding, please let us know so we can check if this is ok with the clients. Mostly they are happy to allow you to come in.
Do you have a demo?
Yes, we can send you demo on request. You can also download some tracks free from this site.
How far do you travel?
We will travel anywhere within reason. Obviously, dances that are a long way from home will entail an overnight stay and this will be reflected in the price unless the client provides accomodation for us.
Can you do highland dancing?
Yes. we can provide the music for all the most popular dances. We don't, however, call the dances as we have found this takes up too much of the evening.
Are you reliable?
We are a professional function band with almost 3000 shows to our name in the 10 years we have been BedHead. We have never missed a wedding in all that time.
Can I call and ask you questions?
Of course. By phone or email.
